Marissa recently graduated from Fairfield University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance, followed by a Master’s in Accounting, equipping her with a deep understanding of financial principles and analytical skills critical for success in today’s fast-paced business environment.

Marissa's professional journey includes a rich variety of experiences that have honed her expertise and broadened her perspective. At DBS Energy, she contributed to the energy efficiency industry, gaining valuable insights into sustainable business practices. During her internship with the Finance, Revenue, and Bonding Committee at the State Capitol, she developed a nuanced understanding of legislative processes and state-level financial issues. Her tenure at the Glastonbury Board of Education allowed her to apply her accounting skills in a public sector setting, strengthening her knowledge of organizational financial management.

In addition to these experiences, Marissa explored her passion for forensic accounting through an internship at the Federal Bureau of Investigation, where she gained a unique perspective on financial crime investigations and the role of accounting in ensuring justice and transparency. These roles have collectively prepared her for the challenges and opportunities of a dynamic financial landscape.

Currently, Marissa has embarked on her professional career at Ernst & Young in the Financial Services Organization (FSO) Assurance practice. In this role, she is leveraging her academic and professional background to help clients navigate complex financial reporting requirements, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and trust in their financial systems.
